GHHI National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week


GHHI is hosting their annual National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week from Sunday, October 23, through Saturday, October 29! National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) is a call to bring together individuals, organizations, industry, and state, tribal, and local governments to increase lead poisoning prevention awareness in an effort to reduce childhood exposure to lead. NLPPW highlights the many ways parents can reduce children’s exposure to lead in their environment and prevent its serious health effects. Monday, October 24th: Lead Week Kick Off Press Conference/1000 Home Repair Launch Time: 11am – 4pm

Location: Collington Square Park 2131 E. Hoffman Street & N. Chester Street Baltimore, MD 21213

Press Conference: 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Resource Fair 12:00-4:00 pm

Community Block by Block Canvassing 12:30pm – 1:30 pm

The event will highlight lead testing, 1,000 homes Baltimore project launch and the new CDC blood lead reference level. There will be an opportunity for community partners to share resources, music, food and Giveaways. Door to Door Canvassing Campaign following Press Conference Flyer Attached

Thursday, October 27th: Lead in Water Convening Event   Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Location: Humanim Building, 1701 N. Gay Street, Baltimore MD 21213

GHHI will host a Lead in Water Convening event to increase the awareness. There will be representative from MDH, MDE, EPA and Baltimore City school to conduct a panel discuss on Lead in Water. Addressing lead in drinking water as part of a comprehensive approach to lead poisoning prevention and health equity. You are invited to Join us. To RSVP your attendance email AJones@ghhi.org
